Planted your garden? Have some empty seed packets? Make this stunning purse! You need 12 empty 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" seed packets. These are readily available at dept stores and garden centers.

My Seed Packet Purse is made using quilted squares sewn on the embroidery machine. These squares have seam allowances built into them. The quilting & vinyl pockets are all done on the embroidery machine as the square is made. When the squares are completed, the purse is sewn together with a regular sewing machine using 1/4" seams. No zigzagging squares together!

The included instructions (PDF) are to make the purse as shown above.

This lined purse is sturdy enough to stand on its own.

You have many options for finishing your purse. You can make fabric handles or use purchased handles. Use a magnetic snap or other type closure. Make more squares to create a taller or wider purse. Add inside pockets if desired. The possibilities are endless!

Everyone gets the fake credit cards in the mail. They have no name or any vital information on them. They are made of cardboard or thin plastic and used as advertisements. Put them to use and make a unique purse!

Dee made this great customized Credit Card Purse! Here's what she wrote: I just finished the credit card purse and wanted you to know that I thoroughly enjoyed making it. I thought I'd share the pictures with you. I used the same colors you did but decided to make it a little larger. I made this as a gift for my niece and it will be the perfect gift. She loves shopping and gets teased about it and that is where I got the idea for the words on the inside pockets. I made one large pocket on one side of the purse. For that I just used the plain square and used a larger hoop to accommodate a larger piece of fabric and batting. After stitching the plain square, I continued the lines by machine to finish the larger piece. Then I just satin stitched over the square edges to "hide" where I added on. I then embellished the purse with a few crystals. Everything stitched out beautifully and your directions were so easy to follow.

Angela made this Faux Credit Card Purse. She added a top zipper closure, crystal bead handles & a hot pink lining with several pockets.

Deb made this Photo Tote. The bottom right pocket is reserved for her grandchild #8, who's on the way !

Nancy made this photo tote to hold awards and badges from the dog shows she attends. She added a fun cute dog themed lining. Nancy also added: "I have 3 dogs that I compete with in several different venues--obedience, agility, and flyball. I used the larger rectangle for my top box so that I could add their names above their row of awards"

Joyce used some extra squares she made for her Photo Tote and added stick on magnets to the back to put the grandkids photos in and hang them on the fridge. Clever use for the squares!

Anna made this great bag using my Photo Pockets Tote Set. She used the pockets for the front & the plain quilted squares for the sides
& back. She rounded off the corners & added any shaping before
making the bag up. It is lined in the same fabric as the piping around the
front.

Deb made this photo tote for her MIL. She printed out a card to put in the top center pocket. This one is for a reunion. When her MIL wants to change the photos, she can change the card to reflect what photos she has.

Roberta put her Square Dancing Badges into the pockets of her tote and added her pins around the top. What a great idea.

Marilyn made her tote using only 2 rows of squares instead of 3. She also made fabric handles instead of using purchased ones.

Joan made this beautiful tote. She's going to be a new grandma and plans on making one to show off her new grand daughter.
